Based in the heart of Marlborough, ‘MOMO’ is a brand that has been capturing the hearts of New Zealanders since its inception. The word “MOMO” means ‘offspring’ in Maori, and is a perfectly apt for the entry level wines that are part of the heritage of the legendary Seresin family. The Seresin philosophy is to grow wines as naturally as possible so that they can truly express and reflect the land that they are produced in.
The Seresin story started with Michael Seresin who spent a large portion of his life working in film. Having worked on major films such as “Gravity” and “Harry Potter” Michael wanted to create some magic that was truly his own. In the early 90’s he had the desire to create a winery that made wine in the most organic and natural method known to man, without compromising on quality. His passion for organics is what laid the groundwork for everything that Seresin estate is - Vegan, Organic and Biodynamic that puts the land at the forefront of it’s care.
The grapes of ‘MOMO’ are sourced from Seresin’s three biodynamic vineyards for the Sauvignon Blanc, organic fruit is also selected from a dedicated grower’s vineyard. The Pinot Noir is a bright and fruity wine that doesn’t skimp on tantalising quality. Organic and in keeping inline with Seresin principles and standards, the ‘MOMO’ wines are made in a fresh and approachable style, yet are still traditionally-crafted to be true to their variety and origins. ‘MOMO’ is a vibrant range of Certified Organic wines, fermented naturally with wild yeasts and strive to be approachable, lively wines.
