‘Palliser Estate’ is a Martinborough based boutique vineyard that produces internationally renowned wines, with an intercontinental outlook. Established over two decades ago, Palliser has made a name for themselves as a leading winery in the premium grape growing region of Martinborough. The team at Palliser strive for excellence and have been carefully looking after their little corner of the world producing world-class wine for the rest of us to enjoy.
The first vineyards were planted in 1984 and we are seeing the character of the wines produced today as truly benefiting, developing and excelling from these older vines. With seven vineyards on their terrace, Palliser do everything they can to ensure only the best for their land. They are in the process of converting their winery and vineyards to organic management - with some already fully converted - as they believe this will give their wines a distinctive and a sense of place.
The wines from Palliser have a very distinct character. They have two labels under the Palliser brand. Their flagship wines are the ‘Palliser Estate’ wines with their Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling being crowd favourites a Specialist Cellars. ‘The Pencarrow range’ are made in the same fashion as the estate range however are meant for early drinking, fruit forward profiles and are decidedly softer in style. Their Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are not to be missed.
