Tongue in Groove is the result of a strong friendship forged at university, between six graduates with a shared destiny to create a unique brand for the New Zealand wine industry. The squad includes Angela Clifford, Lynnette Hudson, Nick Gill, Carolyn Reid and Charles Reid. The sixth member of the team remains anonymous … some say because he’s a spy … some because he’s a wanted man in both Islands of NZ … some simply because he loves creating a bit of intrigue and never lets the truth get in the way of a good story!
Located in the Riesling & Pinot Noir-prefecture of the Waipara Valley, North Canterbury NZ, Tongue in Groove’s headquarters is the organic permaculture property, The Food Farm.
Their wines are sourced usually from multiple vineyards to create a very small number of very specifically-designed wines, but always with a ‘less is more’ attitude to the winemaking process itself and always from the Waipara Valley.
