Medium Bodied

Wines between 12.5% and 13.5% are considered medium-bodied Wine. Good examples Medium Wines are Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. Grapes from warmer climates produce higher alcohol which adds body, and if the wine is in oak for longer periods of time, it adds further tannin and alcohol levels increase.
