Syrah | New World Wine Grapes | Specialist Cellars

Syrah is a dark-skinned grape variety that was newly found to be the offspring of two obscure grapes in South-eastern France. It’s also commonly known as ‘Shiraz’ and has become increasingly popular in Australia, where Syrah became established. In recent years, Syrah has got super-popular internationally, in both old and new regions. High tannins and acidity combined with a mix of blackberry and dark chocolate flavour – what’s not to love?
