Rippon Vineyard

Often regarded as the most photographed vineyard in the world, ‘Rippon’ is a picture perfect site located in Wanaka, New Zealand. Founded by the Mill’s family in 1982, ‘Rippon’ runs down to the shores of Lake Wanaka and the stunning mountain ranges beyond and are the source of arguably the most beautiful wines New Zealand has to offer.

Founded by Lois Mills originally, the vineyard and site next to Lake Wanaka has actually been looked after by the Mills family for over a hundred years, with ownership being taken over by each successive generation. When Son Nick Mills took over full control from his mother, he decided to convert the entire fifteen hectares to full biodynamic viticulture. His extensive experiences in Burgundy taught him that Biodynamic farming and no irrigation help the vines drive energy into its seed and create a real sense of terroir - more than just being a grape varietal in a glass. This is why Rippon wines are often regarded as being in a league of their own from other Central Otago and New Zealand wines.

The outstanding range from ‘Rippon’ include their Sauvignon Blanc - a style that boasts gooseberry & lime aromas with a lean, vibrant and textural mouthfeel. Complex, dry and mineral finish. The Riesling is expressive, bright and intensely peach and lime driven. The Rippon Pinot Noir is a house favourite here with a voluptuous texture, light tannins and outstanding complexity.
