Racines Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2018

2018

£66.50

Availability: 23 in stock

A bold and punchy, super-expressive Pinot with lovely aromatic nuance to play off the dark cherry and plum fruit. It is classy and layered with real depth and complexity. Showing immense character now although this will only improve over the next 5 years and beyond.

Why we love it: Medium bodied Pinot Noir from the Santa Rita Hills, what’s notto love?
Drink with: Beef, veal and other red meats

WINE PRODUCER

Racines is a collaboration between two classic houses from France, led by vignerons Étienne de Montille and Rodolphe Péters, and Santa Barbara’s own Justin Willett, owner and winemaker at Tyler Winery.

The project is the first venture for Étienne and Rodolphe beyond France and represents the coming together of all that is wonderful about Burgundy, Champagne and California.

These wines confirm something many have long suspected: that if you are looking to make terroir driven, elegant, balanced wines in the new world, then Santa Rita Hills is the place.

WINE REGION

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge rises to greet you at the top of our Central Coast. Over the course of the next 500 kilometers (300 miles), the weather transitions from moody to mild, which makes for excellent diversity in both wine and surf. Grapes here are among the oldest in the state, planted by Franciscan monks as they made their way north on El Camino Real (“the royal road”, now Highway 101) in the late 1700s.
