Chenin Blanc Wine
Chenin Blanc, also called ‘Pineau de la Loire’, is a french native variety from the Loire Valley. It’s used to produce white wines, however, its high acidity means it also makes great sparkling wines. It’s believed to have been brought to South Africa in the 17th century. The Chenin Blanc grapevine buds early in the growing season and ripens mid-to-late in the harvest year. The variety has a fairly neutral palate but you can taste greengage, angelica and honey flavours.
