Malbec Wine

Malbec grapes originate from the Bordeaux region in France. Although the grape lost its popularity in Bordeaux after 1956, when frost massively affected the quality and production of the crop. Malbec’s a thick-skinned, dark purple grape variety used to make big, bold reds. Its mid-season ripening and robust tannins add complexity to Claret blends. The Malbec varietal is also used in blends, such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
