A Tribute To Grace
Angela Osborne’s winemaking vision is unusual in that it was sparked by a love of just one grape: Grenache. Originally a film student from New Zealand, it was Grenache that lured her instead into the world of winemaking, and led to her relocating to the warm climates of California where she could dedicate her career to growing this grape.
A focus on Grenache
Grenache remains the singular focus of Angela’s winemaking at A Tribute to Grace, and it’s safe to say that since her 2006 arrival in California, she has quickly established herself as one of the leading specialists of her favourite varietal. The winery, named for her grandmother, encompasses some of the oldest Grenache vineyards in the state. Sites span from Santa Barbara State to the Sierra Foothills, all providing the perfect balance of heat and light for creating Grenache wines of elegance, complexity, and generosity. All wines are single-vineyard sourced to maintain authenticity.
Eco-friendly winemaking
Angela’s approach to winemaking is decidedly low-intervention, with an eye towards biodynamics; she uses very low levels of SO2, neutral oak, and refuses to rely on any artificial additives or unnecessary technology. Ethereal, sheer, and sparkling with a purity of fruit rare in any Grenache - let alone ones from California - it’s hardly surprising that her wines have led to enthusiastic plaudits and accolades for Angela. Most notably, she was named one of Jon Bonne’s 2015 San Francisco Chronicle Winemakers to Watch.
